Sponsored by the United States Department of State and the National Youth Science Foundation, this scholarship is awarded to academically talented students to develop their highest potential in the sciences. The month-long program takes place in the state of West Virginia and the scholarship includes all travel and living expenses.
Students receive a full scholarship to attend the United Space School in Houston, Texas. Scholarship winners participate in a skwatches variety of space-related activities at the Johnson Space Center, the University of Houston Clear Lake, and Space Center Houston. Activities promote science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies and international collaborations.
